आनृशंस्यं परो धर्मः परमार्थाच्च मे मतम् ।
आनृशंस्यं चिकीर्षामि नकुलो यक्ष जीवतु ॥७१॥

Yudhiṣṭhira said: "Non-cruelty (ānṛśaṃsya) is the supreme natural law (dharma), and in my opinion, it is also the highest truth. I wish to practice non-cruelty; therefore, O Yakṣa, let Nakula live!"
