महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-297, verse-63

युधिष्ठिर उवाच ।
दिवं स्पृशति भूमिं च शब्दः पुण्यस्य कर्मणः ।
यावत्स शब्दो भवति तावत्पुरुष उच्यते ॥६३॥
63. yudhiṣṭhira uvāca ,
divaṁ spṛśati bhūmiṁ ca śabdaḥ puṇyasya karmaṇaḥ ,
yāvatsa śabdo bhavati tāvatpuruṣa ucyate.
63. yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | divam spṛśati bhūmim ca śabdaḥ puṇyasya
karmaṇaḥ | yāvat saḥ śabdaḥ bhavati tāvat puruṣaḥ ucyate
63. Yudhiṣṭhira replied, "The reputation (śabda) of a meritorious action (karma) touches both heaven and earth. As long as that reputation lasts, for so long is one truly called a (cosmic) person (puruṣa)."
