युधिष्ठिर उवाच ।
मानं हित्वा प्रियो भवति क्रोधं हित्वा न शोचति ।
कामं हित्वार्थवान्भवति लोभं हित्वा सुखी भवेत् ॥५७॥

57. yudhiṣṭhira uvāca ,
mānaṁ hitvā priyo bhavati krodhaṁ hitvā na śocati ,
kāmaṁ hitvārthavānbhavati lobhaṁ hitvā sukhī bhavet.

Yudhiṣṭhira replied: "By abandoning pride, one becomes dear. By abandoning anger, one does not grieve. By abandoning desire, one becomes prosperous. By abandoning greed, one becomes happy."
