35. yudhiṣṭhira uvāca ,
prāṇo vai yajñiyaṁ sāma mano vai yajñiyaṁ yajuḥ ,
vāgekā vṛścate yajñaṁ tāṁ yajño nātivartate.

Yudhiṣṭhira said: Indeed, the vital life-force is the Sāman chant pertaining to a Vedic ritual (yajña), and indeed, the mind is the Yajus prose formula pertaining to a Vedic ritual (yajña). It is speech alone that impairs or destroys a Vedic ritual (yajña), and the Vedic ritual (yajña) never abandons or surpasses it.
