महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-85, verse-70

तस्मात्त्वमपि विप्रेभ्यः प्रयच्छ कनकं बहु ।
ददत्सुवर्णं नृपते किल्बिषाद्विप्रमोक्ष्यसि ॥७०॥
70. tasmāttvamapi viprebhyaḥ prayaccha kanakaṁ bahu ,
dadatsuvarṇaṁ nṛpate kilbiṣādvipramokṣyasi.

bahu dadat suvarṇam nṛpate kilbiṣāt vimokṣyasi
70. nṛpate tasmāt tvam api viprebhyaḥ bahu kanakam
prayaccha suvarṇam dadat kilbiṣāt vimokṣyasi
70. Therefore, O King, you too should give much gold to the Brahmins. By giving gold, you will be liberated from sin.
