महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-85, verse-42

अष्टौ कविसुता ह्येते सर्वमेभिर्जगत्ततम् ।
प्रजापतय एते हि प्रजानां यैरिमाः प्रजाः ॥४२॥
42. aṣṭau kavisutā hyete sarvamebhirjagattatam ,
prajāpataya ete hi prajānāṁ yairimāḥ prajāḥ.

prajāpatayaḥ ete hi prajānām yaiḥ imāḥ prajāḥ
42. ete aṣṭau kavisutāḥ hi ebhiḥ sarvam jagat tatam
ete hi prajāpatayaḥ prajānām yaiḥ imāḥ prajāḥ
42. These are indeed the eight sons of Kavi; by them, the entire world is pervaded. These are truly the lords of creatures (prajāpati), by whom these living beings (prajā) exist.
