महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-69, verse-8

प्रणिधींश्च ततः कुर्याज्जडान्धबधिराकृतीन् ।
पुंसः परीक्षितान्प्राज्ञान्क्षुत्पिपासातपक्षमान् ॥८॥
8. praṇidhīṁśca tataḥ kuryājjaḍāndhabadhirākṛtīn ,
puṁsaḥ parīkṣitānprājñānkṣutpipāsātapakṣamān.

8. Then, he should appoint spies who are tested, wise, and able to endure hunger, thirst, and heat, assuming the guise of the dull, the blind, or the deaf.
