महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-258, verse-65

गाथाश्चाप्यब्रवीद्विद्वान्गौतमो मुनिसत्तमः ।
चिरकारिषु धीरेषु गुणोद्देशसमाश्रयात् ॥६५॥
65. gāthāścāpyabravīdvidvāngautamo munisattamaḥ ,
cirakāriṣu dhīreṣu guṇoddeśasamāśrayāt.

cirakāriṣu dhīreṣu guṇoddeśasamāśrayāt

65. And the wise Gautama, the best of sages, also spoke verses. These were based on the enumeration of virtues found in those who act deliberately (cirakārin) and are steadfast.
