महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-258, verse-21

आशिषस्ता भजन्त्येनं पुरुषं प्राह याः पिता ।
निष्कृतिः सर्वपापानां पिता यदभिनन्दति ॥२१॥

21. āśiṣastā bhajantyenaṁ puruṣaṁ prāha yāḥ pitā ,
niṣkṛtiḥ sarvapāpānāṁ pitā yadabhinandati.

21. yāḥ āśiṣaḥ pitā enam puruṣam prāha,

21. Those blessings that a father pronounces accrue to that person (puruṣa). The approval of a father is an atonement for all sins.
