स्वप्नद्रष्टुर्दृश्यनृणामस्ति काल्पनिकं यथा ।
न वास्तवं पूर्वकामं जाग्रत्स्वप्ने तथा नृणाम् ॥ १० ॥

10. svapnadraṣṭuḥ dṛśyanṛṇām asti kālpanikam yathā |

10. yathā svapnadraṣṭuḥ dṛśyanṛṇām kālpanikam asti,
pūrvakāmam vāstavam na (asti) jāgratsvapne,
tathā nṛṇām (pūrvakāmam vāstavam na asti)

10. Just as for a dreamer, the people seen in the dream are merely imaginary, not real, and their past actions or experiences (karma) are not factual; so too, for people in the waking state (likened to a dream), their prior actions or desires (karma) are not truly real.
