मुनिरुवाच ।
सर्वेषामेव धर्माणां कर्मणां शर्मणामपि ।
पण्डितः पुण्डरीकाणां मार्तण्ड इव मण्डनम् ॥ १ ॥

paṇḍitaḥ puṇḍarīkāṇāṃ mārtaṇḍa iva maṇḍanam 1

1. The sage said: Indeed, among all virtues (dharma), actions (karma), and even sources of happiness, a wise person is an adornment, just as the sun is for lotuses.
