योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-125, verse-49

नैव तस्य कृतेनार्थो नाकृतेनेह कश्चन ।
न चास्य सर्वभूतेषु कश्चिदर्थव्यपाश्रयः ॥ ४९ ॥
naiva tasya kṛtenārtho nākṛteneha kaścana ,
na cāsya sarvabhūteṣu kaścidarthavyapāśrayaḥ 49
49. na eva tasya kṛtena arthaḥ na akṛtena iha kaścana
na ca asya sarvabhūteṣu kaścit arthavyapāśrayaḥ
49. tasya kṛtena arthaḥ na eva iha akṛtena kaścana na
ca asya sarvabhūteṣu kaścit arthavyapāśrayaḥ na
49. Indeed, for him, there is no purpose (artha) whatsoever in what is done, nor in what is not done in this world. Nor does he depend on any purpose (artha) among all beings.
