विहसन्न हसत्येव जीवन्मुक्तो महोदयः ।
वीतरागाः सरागाभा अकोपाः कोपसंयुताः ॥ ४० ॥

40. The greatly exalted (jīvanmukta), liberated while living, even when smiling, does not truly smile. They are free from passion, yet appear passionate; they are free from anger, yet seem to be filled with anger.
