Just as the multitude of beings (bhūta-vṛnda) are in the great ocean (mahāmbhodhi), which is like (comprised of) waves and other phenomena, similarly, they are in the Self (ātman). The idea that 'this exists' or 'this does not exist' is indeed a delusion (bhrānti) created by the self (ātman) within the Self (ātman).
