tataḥ sindhuḥ andha-andhakāra-dam tamaḥ-astram asṛjat.

39.
Then King Sindhu released the weapon of darkness (tamas-astra), which bestowed blind darkness. By its effect, a dark gloom expanded, resembling the belly of the earth.
