योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-48, verse-39

ततस्तमोऽस्त्रमसृजत्सिन्धुरन्धान्धकारदम् ।
तेनान्धकारो ववृधे कृष्णो भूजठरोपमः ॥ ३९ ॥
tatastamo'stramasṛjatsindhurandhāndhakāradam ,
tenāndhakāro vavṛdhe kṛṣṇo bhūjaṭharopamaḥ 39
39. tataḥ tamaḥ-astram asṛjat sindhuḥ andha-andhakāra-dam
| tena andhakāraḥ vavṛdhe kṛṣṇaḥ bhū-jaṭhara-upamaḥ ||
39. tataḥ sindhuḥ andha-andhakāra-dam tamaḥ-astram asṛjat.
tena,
bhū-jaṭhara-upamaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ andhakāraḥ vavṛdhe.
39. Then King Sindhu released the weapon of darkness (tamas-astra), which bestowed blind darkness. By its effect, a dark gloom expanded, resembling the belly of the earth.
