ब्रह्ममित्रेण मुनिना किन्निमित्तं महात्मना ।
शप्तस्त्वं कीदृशश्चैव शापो दत्तोऽभवत् पुरा ॥३८॥

brahmamitreṇa muninā kinnimittaṃ mahātmanā .
śaptastvaṃ kīdṛśaścaiva śāpo datto'bhavat purā.

Svaroci said: 'For what reason were you cursed by the great-souled (mahātmanā) sage Brahmamitra, and what kind of curse was given previously?'
