मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-63, verse-38

स्वरोचिरुवाच ।
ब्रह्ममित्रेण मुनिना किन्निमित्तं महात्मना ।
शप्तस्त्वं कीदृशश्चैव शापो दत्तोऽभवत् पुरा ॥३८॥
38. svarociruvāca .
brahmamitreṇa muninā kinnimittaṃ mahātmanā .
śaptastvaṃ kīdṛśaścaiva śāpo datto'bhavat purā.
38. svarociḥ uvāca brahmamitreṇa muninā kim nimittam mahātmanā
śaptaḥ tvam kīdṛśaḥ ca eva śāpaḥ dattaḥ abhavat purā
38. Svaroci said: 'For what reason were you cursed by the great-souled (mahātmanā) sage Brahmamitra, and what kind of curse was given previously?'
