प्रसीद शाम्यतामस्त्रं श्रूयताञ्चेत्यभाषत ॥३५॥

tada abhibhūtaḥ sa tada tām utsṛjya niśācaraḥ
prasīda śāmyatām astram śrūyatām ca iti abhāṣata

Then, being overpowered, that demon (niśācaraḥ) abandoned [his efforts] and spoke thus: 'Please be gracious! Let this weapon (astra) be calmed, and listen to me!'
