मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-63, verse-16

क्षुत्क्षामकण्ठो निस्तेजा दूरपाताक्षितारकः ।
मयावहसितः क्रुद्धः स तदा मां शशाप ह ॥१६॥
16. kṣutkṣāmakaṇṭho nistejā dūrapātākṣitārakaḥ .
mayāvahasitaḥ kruddhaḥ sa tadā māṃ śaśāpa ha.
16. kṣut-kṣāma-kaṇṭhaḥ niḥ-tejāḥ dūra-pāta-akṣi-tārakaḥ

16. His throat was parched with hunger, he was lusterless, and his pupils were deeply sunken. When I laughed at him, he became enraged and then cursed me.
