नष्टोऽहमिति संकल्पाद्यथा दुःखेन नश्यति ।
प्रबुद्धोऽस्मीतिसंकल्पाज्जनो ह्येति यथा सुखम् ॥ ४३ ॥

yathā janaḥ 'naṣṭaḥ aham' iti saṅkalpāt duḥkhena naśyati,

43.
Just as a person (jana) perishes in sorrow (duḥkhena naśyati) due to the conviction 'I am lost (naṣṭaḥ aham)', similarly, from the conviction 'I am awakened (prabuddhaḥ asmi)', that person indeed attains happiness (sukham) accordingly.
