एतद्बुद्ध्वा यथा व्योम्नि दृश्यमानोऽपि कालिमा ।
न कालिमेति बुद्धिः स्यादविद्यातिमिरं तथा ॥ ४० ॥

Having understood this, just as the blackness (kālimā) perceived in the sky is not actual blackness, and one's intellect (buddhi) does not consider it such, similarly, ignorance (avidyā) is like a blinding darkness (timiram).
