वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-11, verse-25

तं तु कृच्छ्रगतं दृष्ट्वा पञ्चत्वगतमानसं ।
भृशानुरक्तो मेधावी न भविष्यति लक्ष्मणः ॥२५॥
25. taṃ tu kṛcchragataṃ dṛṣṭvā pañcatvagatamānasaṃ ,
bhṛśānurakto medhāvī na bhaviṣyati lakṣmaṇaḥ.

bhṛśānuraktaḥ medhāvī na bhaviṣyati lakṣmaṇaḥ
25. kṛcchragatam pañcatvagatamanasam tam dṛṣṭvā tu
bhṛśānuraktaḥ medhāvī lakṣmaṇaḥ na bhaviṣyati
25. Having seen him (Rāma) fallen into such distress, with his mind ready to depart (i.e., on the verge of death), the deeply devoted and intelligent Lakṣmaṇa will also cease to exist.
