महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-49, verse-60

इति निश्चित्य मनसा देवलो राजसत्तम ।
त्यक्त्वा गार्हस्थ्यधर्मं स मोक्षधर्ममरोचयत् ॥६०॥
60. iti niścitya manasā devalo rājasattama ,
tyaktvā gārhasthyadharmaṁ sa mokṣadharmamarocayat.

60. Having thus resolved in his mind, Devala, O best of kings, abandoned the way of life (dharma) of a householder and chose the path leading to final liberation (mokṣa-dharma).
