महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-49, verse-10

स दृष्ट्वा भिक्षुरूपेण प्राप्तं तत्र महामुनिम् ।
गौरवं परमं चक्रे प्रीतिं च विपुलां तथा ॥१०॥
10. sa dṛṣṭvā bhikṣurūpeṇa prāptaṁ tatra mahāmunim ,
gauravaṁ paramaṁ cakre prītiṁ ca vipulāṁ tathā.

10. Having seen the great sage arrived there in the form of a mendicant, he (Devala) then showed supreme reverence and also great affection.
