महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-49, verse-17

इत्येवं चिन्तयामास महर्षिरसितस्तदा ।
स्नात्वा समुद्रे विधिवच्छुचिर्जप्यं जजाप ह ॥१७॥
17. ityevaṁ cintayāmāsa maharṣirasitastadā ,
snātvā samudre vidhivacchucirjapyaṁ jajāpa ha.
17. iti evam cintayāmāsa maharṣiḥ asitaḥ tadā |
snātvā samudre vidhi-vat śuciḥ japyam jajāpa ha

17. Thinking thus, the great sage (maharṣi) Asita then pondered. Having bathed ritually in the ocean, he, now pure, indeed chanted his daily prayers (japa).
