महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-49, verse-13

समास्तु समतिक्रान्ता बह्व्यः पूजयतो मम ।
न चायमलसो भिक्षुरभ्यभाषत किंचन ॥१३॥
13. samāstu samatikrāntā bahvyaḥ pūjayato mama ,
na cāyamalaso bhikṣurabhyabhāṣata kiṁcana.
13. samāḥ tu samatikrāntāḥ bahvyaḥ pūjayataḥ mama
na ca ayam alasaḥ bhikṣuḥ abhyabhāṣata kiñcana
13. tu mama pūjayataḥ bahvyaḥ samāḥ samatikrāntāḥ,
ca ayam alasaḥ bhikṣuḥ kiñcana na abhyabhāṣata
13. Many years (samāḥ) have certainly passed during which I have been honoring him, yet this lazy mendicant (bhikṣu) has not spoken a single word.
