महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-49, verse-11

देवलस्तु यथाशक्ति पूजयामास भारत ।
ऋषिदृष्टेन विधिना समा बह्व्यः समाहितः ॥११॥
11. devalastu yathāśakti pūjayāmāsa bhārata ,
ṛṣidṛṣṭena vidhinā samā bahvyaḥ samāhitaḥ.
11. devalaḥ tu yathāśakti pūjayāmāsa bhārata
ṛṣidṛṣṭena vidhinā samāḥ bahvyaḥ samāhitaḥ
11. bhārata devalaḥ tu samāhitaḥ yathāśakti
ṛṣidṛṣṭena vidhinā bahvyaḥ samāḥ pūjayāmāsa
11. But Devala, O Bhārata, being concentrated (in his devotion), worshipped (him) for many years with the method prescribed by sages (ṛṣi-dṛṣṭa), according to his ability.
