महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-2, verse-6

अन्धत्वाद्यदि तेषां तु न मे रूपनिदर्शनम् ।
पुत्रस्नेहकृता प्रीतिर्नित्यमेतेषु धारिता ॥६॥
6. andhatvādyadi teṣāṁ tu na me rūpanidarśanam ,
putrasnehakṛtā prītirnityameteṣu dhāritā.

6. Even if, due to my blindness, I never had the sight of their forms, the affection (prīti) born of a father's love for his sons was always sustained in these boys.
