महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-15, verse-21

मां वा शल्यो रणे हन्ता तं वाहं भद्रमस्तु वः ।
इति सत्यामिमां वाणीं लोकवीरा निबोधत ॥२१॥
21. māṁ vā śalyo raṇe hantā taṁ vāhaṁ bhadramastu vaḥ ,
iti satyāmimāṁ vāṇīṁ lokavīrā nibodhata.
21. mām vā śalyaḥ raṇe hantā tam vā aham bhadram astu
vaḥ iti satyām imām vāṇīm lokavīrāḥ nibodhata
21. śalyaḥ vā mām raṇe hantā,
vā aham tam (hantā).
vaḥ bhadram astu! he lokavīrāḥ,
iti imām satyām vāṇīm nibodhata.
21. Either Śalya will kill me in battle, or I will kill him. May auspiciousness (bhadra) be upon you all! O heroes of the world, comprehend this true declaration.
