महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-68, verse-25

विकृष्यमणैर्जवनैरलंकृतैर्हतेश्वरैराजिरथैः सुकल्पितैः ।
मनुष्यमातङ्गरथाश्वराशिभिर्द्रुतं व्रजन्तो बहुधा विचूर्णिताः ॥२५॥
25. vikṛṣyamaṇairjavanairalaṁkṛtai;rhateśvarairājirathaiḥ sukalpitaiḥ ,
manuṣyamātaṅgarathāśvarāśibhi;rdrutaṁ vrajanto bahudhā vicūrṇitāḥ.

25. Those moving swiftly were crushed in many ways: by swift horses being dragged, by decorated (chariots), by battle chariots whose masters were slain and which were well-prepared, and by heaps of men, elephants, chariots, and horses.
