महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-68, verse-21

शरास्तु कर्णार्जुनबाहुमुक्ता विदार्य नागाश्वमनुष्यदेहान् ।
प्राणान्निरस्याशु महीमतीयुर्महोरगा वासमिवाभितोऽस्त्रैः ॥२१॥
21. śarāstu karṇārjunabāhumuktā; vidārya nāgāśvamanuṣyadehān ,
prāṇānnirasyāśu mahīmatīyu;rmahoragā vāsamivābhito'straiḥ.
21. śarāḥ tu karṇārjunabāhumuktā
vidārya nāgāśvamanuṣyadehān | prāṇān
nirasya āśu mahīm atīyuḥ
mahoragāḥ vāsam iva abhitaḥ astraiḥ
21. tu karṇārjunabāhumuktāḥ śarāḥ
nāgāśvamanuṣyadehān vidārya prāṇān
nirasya āśu mahīm atīyuḥ
mahoragāḥ vāsam abhitaḥ astraiḥ iva
21. But the arrows, released from the arms of Karṇa and Arjuna, tearing apart the bodies of elephants, horses, and men and quickly expelling their life (prāṇa), passed into the earth, just as great serpents swiftly enter their abodes to escape weapons all around.
