महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-1, verse-64

केचिन्नागशतप्राणाः केचित्सर्वास्त्रकोविदाः ।
निहताः पाण्डवेयैः स्म मन्ये कालस्य पर्ययम् ॥६४॥
64. kecinnāgaśataprāṇāḥ kecitsarvāstrakovidāḥ ,
nihatāḥ pāṇḍaveyaiḥ sma manye kālasya paryayam.

64. Some possessed the strength of a hundred elephants, and others were experts in all weaponry. Yet, they were slain by the Pāṇḍavas. I consider this to be the turning point of (kāla) time or destiny.
