महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-1, verse-10

अद्रिसारमयं नूनं हृदयं मम संजय ।
हतं पुत्रशतं श्रुत्वा यन्न दीर्णं सहस्रधा ॥१०॥
10. adrisāramayaṁ nūnaṁ hṛdayaṁ mama saṁjaya ,
hataṁ putraśataṁ śrutvā yanna dīrṇaṁ sahasradhā.

putraśatam śrutvā yat na dīrṇam sahasradhā
10. saṃjaya,
mama hṛdayam nūnam adrisāramayam [asti],
yat putraśatam hatam śrutvā sahasradhā na dīrṇam.
10. O Saṃjaya, my heart must certainly be made of stone, since, even after hearing that a hundred of my sons have been slain, it has not shattered into a thousand pieces.
