श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अथ भूधरशृङ्गाभा सा महाकृष्णराक्षसी ।
कज्जलाम्बुदलेखेव तानवं गन्तुमुद्यता ॥ १ ॥

atha bhūdharaśṛṅgābhā sā mahākṛṣṇarākṣasī ,
kajjalāmbudalekheva tānavaṃ gantumudyatā 1

1. Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: Then, that great dark demoness (rākṣasī), whose appearance was like a mountain peak, and who resembled a streak of collyrium-dark clouds, was ready to become thin.
