वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-1, verse-65

दर्शयामास चात्मानं समुद्रः सरितां पतिः ।
समुद्रवचनाच्चैव नलं सेतुमकारयत् ॥६५॥
65. darśayāmāsa cātmānaṃ samudraḥ saritāṃ patiḥ ,
samudravacanāccaiva nalaṃ setumakārayat.

65. The lord of rivers, the ocean, revealed himself (ātman). And indeed, at the command of the ocean, he had Nala construct a bridge.
