वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-1, verse-46

स चास्य कथयामास शबरीं धर्मचारिणीम् ।
श्रमणीं धर्मनिपुणामभिगच्छेति राघव ।
सो ऽभ्यगच्छन्महातेजाः शबरीं शत्रुसूदनः ॥४६॥
46. sa cāsya kathayāmāsa śabarīṃ dharmacāriṇīm ,
śramaṇīṃ dharmanipuṇāmabhigaccheti rāghava ,
so'bhyagacchanmahātejāḥ śabarīṃ śatrusūdanaḥ.
46. saḥ ca asya kathayāmāsa śabarīm
dharmacāriṇīm śramaṇīm dharmanipuṇām
abhigaccha iti rāghava saḥ abhyagacchan
mahātejāḥ śabarīm śatrusūdanaḥ
46. ca saḥ asya kathayāmāsa iti: "rāghava śabarīm dharmacāriṇīm śramaṇīm dharmanipuṇām abhigaccha.
" saḥ mahātejāḥ śatrusūdanaḥ śabarīm abhyagacchan.
46. And he (Kabandha) told him (Rama), "O Raghava, go to Shabari, an ascetic woman who practices righteousness (dharma) and is skilled in (dharma)." That glorious slayer of foes (Rama) then went to Shabari.
