मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-58, verse-40

धर्मबद्धास्तथालूका उरुकर्मस्थिता जनाः ।
वामपादे जनाः पार्श्वे स्थिताः कूर्मस्य भागुरे ॥४०॥
40. dharmabaddhāstathālūkā urukarmasthitā janāḥ .
vāmapāde janāḥ pārśve sthitāḥ kūrmasya bhāgure.
40. dharma-baddhāḥ tathā alūkāḥ uru-karma-sthitāḥ janāḥ
vāma-pāde janāḥ pārśve sthitāḥ kūrmasya bhāgure
40. People bound by natural law (dharma), as well as owls (alūkāḥ), and people engaged in great actions (karma). There are also people on the left foot, and those situated on the side of the tortoise (kūrma) in Bhāgura.
