मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-58, verse-25

तथा वारिचराः कोलाः चर्मपट्टनिवासिनः ।
गणबाह्याः पराः कृष्णा द्वीपवासनिवासिनः ॥२५॥
25. tathā vāricarāḥ kolāḥ carmapaṭṭanivāsinaḥ .
gaṇabāhyāḥ parāḥ kṛṣṇā dvīpavāsanivāsinaḥ.

25. Similarly, there are the Vāricaras (water-dwellers), the Kolas (a tribal group), those living on leather strips, the Gaṇabāhyas (outcasts), the distant Kṛṣṇas (black people), and the island-dwellers.
