वरं वृणोम्यहं तात मामेष यदि नेच्छति ।
तपसाऽन्यो न मे भर्त्ता जन्मन्यस्मिन्भविष्यति ॥४६॥

varaṃ vṛṇomyahaṃ tāta māmeṣa yadi necchati .
tapasā'nyo na me bharttā janmanyasminbhaviṣyati.

The maiden said, "O Father, I ask for a boon: if he (the prince) does not desire me, then by spiritual austerity (tapas) no other husband shall be mine in this life."
