मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
ततः शुश्राव तं बद्धं तनयं स करन्धमः ।
तस्य पत्नी तथा वीरा अन्ये चापि महीभृतः ॥१॥

tataḥ śuśrāva taṃ baddhaṃ tanayaṃ sa karandhamaḥ .
tasya patnī tathā vīrā anye cāpi mahībhṛtaḥ.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then, King Karandhama heard that his son had been bound. His courageous wife and other kings also heard [the news].
