अथाब्रवीत्क्रोधसंरक्तनेत्रः कर्णः शल्यं संधितेषुः प्रसह्य ।
न संधत्ते द्विः शरं शल्य कर्णो न मादृशाः शाठ्ययुक्ता भवन्ति ॥८॥

8. athābravītkrodhasaṁraktanetraḥ; karṇaḥ śalyaṁ saṁdhiteṣuḥ prasahya ,
na saṁdhatte dviḥ śaraṁ śalya karṇo; na mādṛśāḥ śāṭhyayuktā bhavanti.

8. Then Karna, his eyes reddened with anger, and with the arrow already fixed, spoke to Shalya resolutely: "O Shalya, Karna does not fix an arrow twice! Men like me are not prone to deceit."
