स एवमुक्तो मधुसूदनेन गाण्डीवधन्वा रिपुषूग्रधन्वा ।
उवाच को न्वेष ममाद्य नागः स्वयं य आगाद्गरुडस्य वक्त्रम् ॥२२॥

22. sa evamukto madhusūdanena; gāṇḍīvadhanvā ripuṣūgradhanvā ,
uvāca ko nveṣa mamādya nāgaḥ; svayaṁ ya āgādgaruḍasya vaktram.

22. saḥ evam uktaḥ madhusūdanena
gāṇḍīvadhanvā ripuṣu ugradhanvā uvāca
kaḥ nu eṣaḥ mama adya nāgaḥ
svayam yaḥ āgāt garuḍasya vaktrām

22. evam uktaḥ saḥ madhusūdanena,
gāṇḍīvadhanvā ripuṣu ugradhanvā uvāca: adya eṣaḥ kaḥ nu nāgaḥ mama,
yaḥ svayam garuḍasya vaktrām āgāt.

22. Thus addressed by Madhusūdana, Arjuna (Gaṇḍīvadhānvā), who was formidable with his bow among enemies, replied, 'Who indeed is this serpent (nāga) for me today, who has himself come into the mouth of (Garuḍa)?'
