महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-66, verse-4

ततो विमर्दः सुमहान्बभूव तस्यार्जुनस्याधिरथेश्च राजन् ।
अन्योन्यमासादयतोः पृषत्कैर्विषाणघातैर्द्विपयोरिवोग्रैः ॥४॥
4. tato vimardaḥ sumahānbabhūva; tasyārjunasyādhiratheśca rājan ,
anyonyamāsādayatoḥ pṛṣatkai;rviṣāṇaghātairdvipayorivograiḥ.

4. rājan tataḥ tasya arjunasya ādhiratheḥ ca anyonyam āsādayatoḥ,
ugraiḥ dvipayoḥ viṣāṇaghātaiḥ iva pṛṣatkaiḥ [kṛtaḥ] sumahān vimardaḥ babhūva
4. O King, then a very great battle ensued between that Arjuna and Adhirathi (Karna), as they confronted each other with arrows, fierce like two elephants clashing with their tusks.
