Regarding him (Takṣaka), it was said: 'Understand that he has committed an offense against me; his enmity arose today from the killing of his mother, by Kṛṣṇa's (Vāsudeva's) actions.' Then, Kṛṣṇa said to Arjuna (Pārtha) in battle, 'You must kill this great serpent (mahoraga) who has made himself an enemy.'
