महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-66, verse-28

ततो वृषो बाणनिपातकोपितो महोरगो दण्डविघट्टितो यथा ।
तथाशुकारी व्यसृजच्छरोत्तमान्महाविषः सर्प इवोत्तमं विषम् ॥२८॥
28. tato vṛṣo bāṇanipātakopito; mahorago daṇḍavighaṭṭito yathā ,
tathāśukārī vyasṛjaccharottamā;nmahāviṣaḥ sarpa ivottamaṁ viṣam.

mahoragaḥ daṇḍavighaṭṭitaḥ yathā
tathā āśukārī vyasṛjat śarottamān

28. Then Karna (Vṛṣa), enraged by the strike of the arrows, much like a great serpent provoked by a stick, quickly acted and discharged excellent arrows, just as a greatly venomous serpent emits its potent venom.
