योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-51, verse-45

अजाग्रत्दृष्टिदृष्टो यः स्वाभिधानादिनेरितः ।
न स्वप्नो विद्यते तस्मादच्छात्मा चितिमात्रकम् ॥ ४५ ॥
ajāgratdṛṣṭidṛṣṭo yaḥ svābhidhānādineritaḥ ,
na svapno vidyate tasmādacchātmā citimātrakam 45
45. ajāgratdṛṣṭidṛṣṭaḥ yaḥ svābhidhānādinā īritaḥ na
svapnaḥ vidyate tasmāt accha ātmā citimātrakam
45. yaḥ ajāgratdṛṣṭidṛṣṭaḥ svābhidhānādinā īritaḥ na
svapnaḥ vidyate tasmāt accha ātmā citimātrakam
45. That which is perceived by a non-waking vision and described by various names, etc., is not truly a dream. Therefore, the pure Self (ātman) is merely consciousness (citimātrakam).
