However, for the purpose of instruction regarding that (avidyā, which was discussed in the previous verse), this very concept (kalpanā) of the individual soul (jīva) and so forth has been formulated by the scriptures (śāstra) for the sake of awakening. You, therefore, listen to it with a focused mind.
