चित्त्वजाड्यात्मकं चित्तं दृष्टं भावयति स्वयम् ।
यथा यदैव यद्भावं तथा भवति तत्तदा ॥ ३८ ॥

cittvajāḍyātmakaṃ cittaṃ dṛṣṭaṃ bhāvayati svayam ,

The mind (citta), being inherently composed of both consciousness (cit) and inertness, itself experiences what it perceives. Just as, whenever it (the mind) brings forth any state or idea, it then becomes precisely that.
