योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-25, verse-7

द्वादशाङ्गुलपर्यन्तं बाह्यमाक्रमतामधः ।
प्राणानामङ्गसंस्पर्शो यः स पूरक उच्यते ॥ ७ ॥
dvādaśāṅgulaparyantaṃ bāhyamākramatāmadhaḥ ,
prāṇānāmaṅgasaṃsparśo yaḥ sa pūraka ucyate 7
7. dvādaśāṅgulaparyantam bāhyam ākramatām adhaḥ
prāṇānām aṅgasaṃsparśaḥ yaḥ saḥ pūrakaḥ ucyate
7. prāṇānām dvādaśāṅgulaparyantam bāhyam adhaḥ ākramatām yaḥ aṅgasaṃsparśaḥ,
saḥ pūrakaḥ ucyate.
7. That contact of the pranas (life-breaths) with the body, which extends externally downwards up to twelve finger-widths, is called puraka (inhalation).
