मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-7, verse-54

सर्वमेतत् परित्यज्य छायाभूता वयं तव ।
हानाथ हा महाराज हा स्वामिन् किं जहासि नः ॥५४॥
54. sarvametat parityajya chāyābhūtā vayaṃ tava .
hānātha hā mahārāja hā svāmin kiṃ jahāsi naḥ.
54. sarvam etat parityajya chāyābhūtāḥ vayam tava
hā nātha hā mahārāja hā svāmin kim jahāsi naḥ
54. Having renounced all of this, we are like your shadows. Oh, my Lord! Oh, great king! Oh, my Master! Why do you abandon us?
