मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-7, verse-3

बभूवुर्न तथोन्मत्ता धन-वीर्य-तपोमदैः ।
नाजायन्त स्त्रियश्चैव काश्चिदप्राप्तयौवनाः ॥३॥
3. babhūvurna tathonmattā dhana-vīrya-tapomadaiḥ .
nājāyanta striyaścaiva kāścidaprāptayauvanāḥ.
3. babhūvuḥ na tathā unmattāḥ dhanavīryatapomādaiḥ
na ajāyanta striyaḥ ca eva kāścit aprāptayauvanāḥ
3. Nor did people become arrogant due to the intoxication of wealth, valor, or austerity (tapas). Furthermore, no women were born who had not yet attained youth.
